Mikayla's Policy Advisory
During the Navigations Acts the cargo ships had to go through British checkpoints. While the inspections went on with the boats. People who represented the crown could take anything they wanted. If cargo ships skipped those checkpoints they were counted as pirates and smugglers. Civil asset is a problem in the United States. There have been multiple accounts of cases of possessions taken even when the person was not guilty. From 2002 through 2014 Philadelphia law enforcement took over seventy-two million dollars, 3,500 cars, and 1,200 homes from citizens.
The states can share up to 80% of the profits with the federal government. So, more states are incentive to use civil asset forfeiture
Congress passed the Clyde-Hirsch-Sowers Respect act. The act is limiting how much the IRS can use civil asset forfeiture to seize assets from bank accountants.
Frank Ranelli’s computer got confiscated by police because the police thought it was stolen goods. Frank owned a computer repair shop.
Timbsv. Indiana-the court deicide that the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition of excessive fines applied to the state governments. This case incorporated that clause against the states. This means that states should also not be allowed to take a lot of money from people.
Civil asset forfeiture should be taken away even a
The policy for civil asset forfeiture should be where the objects are not taken until the person is proven guilty and police cannot keep the objects they take.

Why should my president support my policies
My first policy that I would want my president Mikayla Baird to support is war. Not the action of war but the decision the United States of America makes to go to war. I believe that the current system put in place to regulate war needs to be introduced to reform. This system has caused the United States many casualties, life altering and threatening situation and finally a economy built on being in a constant state of war, which is not healthy for any country's economy. Over time the country will become drained and their resources will become exhausted which will put a heavy burden on the American people. However all this could be avoided if my policy was put into action. This policy states that "any involvement in war that the government deems necessary should by ran by the people." Meaning that there should be a vote where the people get a say in whether we fight wars or not. In addition seeing as my president plans to keep the structure of a democracy alive, this would fit into her plans and aspirations for this country's future. My president is trying to build a government that protects and power the nation which in perspective means powering the people. This can be done through the promotion of a fair democratic rule; which my policy aids in doing. This would make supporting my policy an ideal and justified reform.
My second policy is on immigration, or to further explain the process that immigrants go through to enter the country. Whether it is on the basis of education or work, it should not be that difficult to get ahold of the proper credentials to do so. Furthermore, immigration is such a huge part of the economy, it can make or break the hie achy of life in America. With this being said this process of changing the status of immigration to a US citizen should not be so hard, lengthy and complex. Of course precautions must be taken but this process should be tailored for immigrants in a manner that is efficient and effective in protecting the country
and these immigrants. I believe that my president Mikayla Baird should support this policy because it is a chance to evolve the economy and raise its value. Which is one of the many roles/responsibility that the government holds. This will help the country to be more inviting to these immigrants and in return these immigrants will be more willing to give back to the United States of America. Therefore establishing a alliance.

My Policy Advisory: Standardized/High Stakes Testing
Former President George W. Bush’s No Child Left Behind Act was a program that shined the light on students with disabilities or disadvantages in the U.S. for the sake of the educational progression of all students. This program not only casts a spotlight on students, but on constant standardized tests as well. It drove teachers and schools to aim higher, to produce better test results, and collect federal funding as a dependent reward. So far, so good, right? However, there are several downsides and disagreements concerning the NCLB.
Although under NCLB the government established frequent standardized/high stakes testing in schools, you, Mikayla Baird, should stand by your policy of reducing the number of tests and increasing the variety in which students can be assessed. This effort will contribute to the reduction of stress on teachers and their pupils; it will more widely allow students to demonstrate their strengths, plus what they have learned and attained, and it will encourage a more creative learning approach.
To start off, the singular reason we, the Powerpuff Girls Party, should be involved in the educational system is because, once elected, we’ll have the power as the executive branch to sign a bill enforcing the law of reduced standardized testing. Otherwise, we should allow the local government to lead this network. The responsibilities that are not constitutionally given the federal government should not be in the hands of the federal government; the tenth Amendment reads, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people” (constitution.congress.gov). Education falls under this category and will be better managed by the individual states.
Furthermore, reducing the number of required standardized tests will relieve teachers of the burden and rigidness that comes with needing to prepare students to do well on a test. There will be space for them to teach more organically, with structure, but more freely. Teachers will be encouraged to be creative and dive deeper into a topic if their students show interest. In turn, with a consistently open environment students will feel prompted to ask questions and truly learn and gain knowledge.
Above all, the issue with standardized testing is not the root of the problem. When you get back to the basics, Ms. Baird, you should ask yourself what is the purpose of school? Its function should primarily be a safe place where students can learn. Students aren’t genuinely learning if they are being taught facts to restate on a test, then throw out the window after the school year ends. This can cause a feeling of purposelessness, education-wise, and teachers have heard the inquiry from students of “When will we use this?”
For these reasons, Ms. Baird, when you are elected, you should enforce a law that will better the education of our nation’s students. After passing that law, on behalf of the constitution, we as the executive branch should step back and allow the proper body of people to rule over this issue.
